Omar Otero – Artist & Art Educator
Omar Otero is an accomplished artist, photographer, and educator whose career spans more than two decades in the visual arts and education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Digital Imaging from the prestigious Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida.

Otero began his career in New York City, working in television production with major network crews and actors on acclaimed shows including All My Children, One Life to Live, Guiding Light, and As the World Turns. This experience honed his mastery of lighting and composition—hallmarks that continue to define his fine art and portraiture today.

His portraits—capturing families, pets, and lifestyle subjects as well as conceptual works—have earned national recognition, including the AVA Digital Award and honors from Imagination Unlimited Weddings.

As an educator, Otero has taught in public, private, and international schools across the United States and Central America. His teaching career includes faculty roles at Ringling College of Art and Design and IB art instruction at the American School of Tegucigalpa in Honduras. He currently teaches Drawing, Painting, 2D, and 3D Art at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida, the top-ranked high school in Seminole County.

Otero remains an active presence in the art community through residencies, workshops, and exhibitions. He was recently awarded a residency at the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Manasota Key and continues to lead children's art workshops in Winter Garden, Florida. His work has been featured in exhibitions at the Ringling Museum, Safety Harbor Museum, Englewood Art Center, and other respected institutions.
