Sanford Seminole Art Association will hold its January 24th meeting from NOON – 3:00 p.m. at the Sanford Sheriff's Department, Community Room. 100 Eslinger Way, Sanford (West side of 17-92, first building on the right). It is FREE and open to the public. A light lunch will be available from NOON to 12:45 p.m. to meet the artists. A brief business meeting will be followed by a demonstration by Joe Yakovetic using acrylic on canvas. He is a true Renaissance man, taking what is seen as common and breathing new life and a uniquely fresh spirit into it.
His paintings are "like comfort food, transporting the viewer back to a unique moment in time that forever defines the heart of the film for them." His art direction includes theme parks, film, and publishing. He has travelled the world as a designer for Disney and received awards for paintings, costumes, and set designs. He has also illustrated children's books and products. His Fine art includes live and photo images with oil, acrylic, digital, pastel, and
watercolor. He also creates caricatures and sculptures in clay and organic materials. He also does interior design, residential and commercial, museum, and retail stores.
