I am a 5th generation artist working predominantly in oil paint who captures the lighting and essence of wild Florida and the natural beauty of the Southeast. I first received art instruction from my grandmother, Barbara Bassett, founder of Art Workshop in Winter Park. Under her tutelage I was exposed to the art of many local and regional artists, including Andre Smith and Walter Inglis Anderson, whose landscapes often integrate stylized and abstract elements. Now, while actively exhibiting my work in the Southeast, I continue to refine and explore my craft through classes at Crealde as well as through a mixture of traditional plein air landscape painting and experimental studio work./
