As an emerging artist originally from Ukraine, Kateryna strives to explore everything around her as a subject for drawing and painting. Traveling around the United States and visiting many national and state parks, she was inspired by the beauty of nature. It was then that the desire to draw and share this beauty with others was born.

Kateryna had no previous experience in drawing or painting, but she always loved to look closely at the works of great masters, visiting many museums throughout Europe and the United States.

As a student at Seminole State College of Florida, she took classes in drawing, painting, design, ceramics, and selected studies in art with professors Larry Vienneau, Tammy Lawless, and Jay Spalding.

Outside of college, Kateryna continues to study and participate in workshops and other extracurricular classes and activities, including plein-air sessions with members of the SSAA.

Kateryna prefers and enjoys soft pastel as her medium to convey her perception of the subject and feelings. Her other media include oil, ink, charcoal, watercolor pencils, and oil pastels.

A love of art and the beauty of the surrounding world are the main forces that motivate Kateryna to capture what she sees through the prism of her artistic vision on canvas, and to share with viewers her exploration of the world of colors and shades, shapes and contours inherent in nature.
