Prior to a career teaching middle school science, I worked in agricultural research at the University of Florida Institute of Food & Agricultural Science. After retiring, I began to pursue my interest in painting. I started out working primarily in watercolor, but about seven years ago, I decided to take an oil painting class with Gary Sisco at the Casselberry Art House. I have been taking his class regularly ever since. I have taken other classes in other mediums, but I enjoy oil painting the most. I am inspired by the natural world around me and the subject matter of my paintings often reflects this focus.
