I have always enjoyed art. As a young child, I treasured my box of 64 crayons and loved coloring in my extra thick Roy Rogers coloring book! Later in high school, I looked forward to art class, always trying to create something new and exciting.
As a young married adult, I began watching Bill Alexander on his "Magic Oil Painting" shows. He inspired me to try my hand at oils. I took "basement classes" with a local artist and, when we adopted our two daughters, I was determined to paint their portraits trying to capture their likeness. I joined a local art association and became hooked on painting, using both oil and watercolor. We had frequent shows and exhibits and luckily, I was fortunate to bring home numerous ribbons and honors...I loved seeing the rewards of my endeavors!
In 1987, we moved from Michigan to Florida and I returned to work, so my art fell to the wayside for several years. When I retired in 2011, I started painting again...deciding to try
acrylics on canvas. I enjoy painting realistically, in just about all subject matter. My favorites are animals and people. I have been fortunate enough to sell quite a few paintings to coworkers and friends, usually pet or family portraits.
